About Viyet
Viyet.com, the high-end, pre-owned online furniture marketplace has been operating in the NY Tri-State area for the past two years but not until recently did they source out of Los Angeles. Viyet pulls the product on their site from private homes, interior designers, and designer showrooms, and a Viyet curator personally inspects and vets each item that is sold. Some items are pre-owned and very gently used while others items have never been used and may come from a manufacturer’s existing stock or showroom. Some of the brands featured on the site: A. Rudin, Dakota Jackson, Knoll, Hickory Chair. Whatever the case or brand, each item is top quality and can be purchased for far less than one would find in the retail marketplace.
Viyet and Benjamin Moore Collaboration
Online furniture sales has become a big business, but oftentimes the biggest obstacle when purchasing furnishings online is a poor color match. What appears to be one color on screen can look drastically different in actuality, and this results in a poor experience for the buyer. To remedy this problem, Viyet came up with the perfect solution and partnered with the national paint power house, Benjamin Moore, and each product sold on Viyet is now matched with a corresponding Benjamin Moore paint color. While viewing the product, simply hover over the color section in the listing, and a window pops up with a larger swatch of color. To be certain of the actual color and for a physical color sample, the Benjamin Moore number can be matched to the color on the Benjamin Moore color fan deck or a swatch can also be pulled at any Benjamin Moore distributor for an actual color representation. Below is a screen shot of Kravet’s Pasadena Chaise (yes, I chose to highlight the Pasadena chaise as it was named for the city in which I live!) – see below where the pop-up color window with a large swatch of color is displayed on screen.
To celebrate Viyet’s much anticipated launch in LA, Traditional Home and Benjamin Moore invited a select group of designers, media, and industry professionals (myself included) to Palihouse in West Hollywood on the eve of the annual 3-day Legends event at the La Cienega Design Quarter (LCDQ). Great conversation, food, and drink was had by all!
