Introducing a Collaboration Pairing Light and Switch

A Collaboration Between Legrand and Hubbardton Forge

You’ve all heard me sing adorne® by Legrand‘s praises, most recently  with a complete refresh of all the outdated (and unsightly) light switches, dimmers, outlets and wall plates with those from Legrand’s adorne® collection at the iconic McKinley House in Venice Beach CA.  I have to admit, after being introduced to adorne®, I cringe every time I see a cheap plastic switch plate  – especially when tens of thousands of dollars have gone into making sure everything else is beautifully orchestrated. Why spend the money to make sure all the furniture, lighting, and finishes work together just to ruin it by completing the look with a $2.99 plastic switch and wall plate?  Light switches should not be an after thought, but rather an integral part of the design, because the details DO matter.

Fast forward to last week in New York when I attended the press launch of the collaboration between Legrand and Hubbardton Forge.  This collaboration introduced 6 new wall plates to the adorne® collection, all of which are a textured steel hand forged by being subjected to nearly 2000 degree heat in the country’s oldest and largest commercial forge located in Vermont.   Two opaque finishes accentuate the one of a kind forged texture and four translucent finishes allow the steel’s natural color to peek through a tinted coat while highlighting the unique texture .  The result of this collaboration, a perfect pairing of light and switch.

The Evening: Perfect Pairings

To commemorate the evening, the folks at Legrand and Hubbardton Forge mixed up handcrafted cocktails  with names coordinated to the new collection of wall plates alongside perfectly paired bite-sized nibbles.  After all, the evening was all about perfect pairings.

The 6 Finishes that Make Up the Hubbardton Forge Line for Legrand

As mentioned earlier, 6 rich finishes make up the Hubbardton Forge line for Legrand.  A perfect pairing where the 6000 year-old art of forged metal is combined with touch-sensitive technology. The switches, dimmers, and outlets are interchangeable while the wall plate  remains the same.   Adorne by Legrand and Hubbardton Forge collaboration - 6 available finishes
