Luxury Kitchen Appliances from Thermador
In less than two weeks I will be headed to Las Vegas with Modenus’ BlogTour for the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) January 20-22 where I will be seeing and experiencing the latest in kitchen and bath products and trends. Thermador , the nearly 100-year-old company that has been “bringing innovation to the kitchen for real cooks” since its founding in 1916, is one of the sponsors of this adventure. Thermador is a pioneer in the luxury kitchen appliance industry, having introduced the first wall oven and cooktop in 1947 as well as being the first to introduce stainless steel to the home appliance industry that same year.
The Freedom Induction Cooktop
Up to 4 pots or pans can be placed anywhere on the Freedom Induction Cooktop surface and in any configuration. If a pot needs to be moved to another location on the cooktop, the advanced technology will transfer all of your programmed settings to the new position of the pan.
Shown are the Freedom Induction Cooktop with a stainless steel trim, but Thermador recently introduced a frameless design in either black or a silver mirrored finish, allowing the cooktop surface to seamlessly blend into the surrounding countertop. Because of the cooktop’s smooth finish, clean up is a breeze and only requires a damp sponge. For someone who hates to clean, that alone is reason to make the switch from gas to induction!
The MicroDrawer Microwave
The 24″ Built-In MicroDrawer Microwave offers a 1.2 cubic feet capacity, 950 watts of power, 10 cooking modes, and sensor cooking to take the guesswork out of cooking and reheating. This sensor detects moisture and automatically adjusts cooking level and time, eliminating the need for constant rechecking and adding additional time.
The Built-In MicroDrawer Microwave is the only drawer that can be installed completely flush in any standard depth cabinetry, making for a sleek, clean and uncluttered appearance. The touch “open” and “close” feature opens and closes the MicroDrawer Microwave with a simple touch, eliminating the need for a handle.
The Star Sapphire Dishwasher
The Star Sapphire Dishwasher has several features that speak to the busy life I lead. Time is always a premium in our household, and oftentimes we procrastinate running the dishwasher, especially when entertaining, and this leaves an awkward situation of not always having enough glasses, dishes, and utensils. The Star Sapphire‘s Star Speed preheats a cycle’s worth of water, allowing a full washing cycle to be completed in record setting time – 20 minutes!
The 3rd rack features an adjustable chef’s tool drawer, accommodating professional cooking utensils of all sizes.
The flexible folding tines make the Star Sapphire Dishwasher the most versatile on the market. The tines can be folded down to accommodate larger pots and can be put in the upright position to maximize space according to the contents of each load. While on the topic of capacity, I must mention that the Star Sapphire boasts the largest wine glass capacity, accommodating 18 large wine glasses!
One thing I am constantly guilty of is opening the dishwasher door in the middle of the cycle, as when the door is closed, it is impossible to see how much time is left in the cycle. The Thermador Star Sapphire Dishwasher makes sure that won’t happen by projecting a Time Remaining PowerBeam Light on the kitchen floor – clever!
Another constant dishwasher foible of mine and more frequently my boys? Putting dirty dishes into a dishwasher filled with just cleaned dishes. Thermador makes sure that won’t happen by illuminating the dishwasher with a beautiful sparkling sapphire blue light indicating that the load has just been cleaned.
I’m practical but also love well thought out design, so these three Thermador luxury kitchen appliances: the Freedom Induction Cooktop, the MicroDrawer Microwave, and the Star Sapphire Dishwasher are on my list of top products to see at KBIS. Innovation, flexibility, ease of cleaning, time efficiency – all without sacrificing design, and a testament to the fact that form and function CAN coexist. I can’t wait to see Thermador in person in two weeks time! Stay tuned for much more on KBIS and the many adventures of #BlogTourVegas in the upcoming weeks!
P.S. – Thermador is currently holding a “HowDo You Cook? Sweepstakes” and the Grand Prize is a Star Sapphire Dishwasher. Click HERE to enter and good luck!
Cheers,
