Accent Chairs – My Top Picks at High Point Market

One of the things I love doing while at market is to look at the many variations of accent chairs there are available in the market.  Here I have compiled some of my favorites, which consist of all different styles and shapes.  The juxtaposition of texture, materials, and even time periods make for fresh looking and appealing products.

Lexington Home Brands

Lexington Home Brands is right on trend with this sexy little number.  Cut velvet, a Greek key motif, and a shiny chrome frame make this chair absolutely irresistible and a must for any contemporary  setting. A little bit masculine but with the luxurious touch of cut velvet.

David Francis Furniture

David Francis Furniture has outdone themselves with this beautifully detailed frame (which also comes in a handful of custom colors)  I especially love the contrast of the black and white – definitely a statement piece.

E.J. Victor

There’s nothing like the historic frame of a fauteuil chair that is upholstered in a modern day print such as the green faux bois print above.  Such a contradiction in time periods, which makes it fresh, fun, and exciting.

Kim Salmela

I absolutely love the shape of this modern interpretation of the wingback chair by Kim Salmela Atelier.  Not only does it look good, but it is beyond comfortable – so comfortable that I am going to specify it for a very picky client whose husband is just as particular about comfort as she is about aesthetics.

The Heritage Collection from Stanley Furniture

It’s amazing what a little bit of restoration, a fresh coat of new paint, and new upholstery can do.  A few months ago these two chairs went through an extensive restoration at the hands of the craftsmen at the Stanley Furniture company and now they are experiencing a renaissance.  With the white painted woodwork and the graphic crossweave upholstery from Schumacher in white and blue, these two chairs look fresh, new, and inviting.  If I hadn’t been told about their past beforehand, I  would have never guessed that they are almost 50 years old!

Oly Studio

How could I not fall in love with this hand carved wood frame chair and ottoman with hair on hide printed zebra? This duo is definitely a show stopper and would fit in equally as well in a room with deep saturated color as it does in this neutral setting.  I personally would put it in a room with a lot of print, where I would play with the scale to make to make sure that this chair and ottoman stand out from the crowd.
