My Top Picks of Extraordinary Finds from High Point Fall 2013 Market

If you’ve been following Cozy•Stylish•Chic for some time, you probably know that one of my favorite past times is to identify trends and scout out interesting finds.  I recently returned from High Point, where I sought to find new resources for a huge project I am working on, and while there, I took the time to shop the trends and catalog my favorite finds. Of course there was a huge, long list of things that I fell in love with at High Point Market, but for the purpose of this post, I narrowed down this list to include what I thought to be the most innovative and/or interesting.  For more on what I saw to be fresh and inspiring, you can check out my Pinterest page.  Here goes the list:

EMPORIUM HOME

I loved the shape of this accent table which is a refreshing twist on the ubiquitous hexagon.  Geometric shapes have been trending for some time, but none like the distorted shapes on the base of this accent table by Ashley Childers for Emporium Home.  Because of its slight twist on the hexagon/honeycomb trend, this table looks  fresh, new, and exciting!

SkLO

These uniquely shaped Czech hand blown crystal glass vessels from SkLO’s “objects” collection can be used as colorful wall decor as shown below, as a vase filled with water and flowers, or in conjunction with lighting to create a colorful glow in any room.  And how could one say no to all the pretty colors offered below?

BOOMDEEAY CLAY

Below is only one of the pieces from Tara Lynn’s Norahkin Wave Pott Collection.  Each original creation is constructed using the coil method and each “Pott” takes several weeks to create.  Organic in shape with each creation having it’s own unique color palette, Tara Lynn and her company, Boomdeeay Clay is one to watch as they are unlike any other I’ve ever seen.

MR. BROWN

Mr. Brown’s linen wrapped chest with polished nickel nailhead trim with contrasting stripe drawer lining was a sure beauty! Talk about details…

SERGE DE TROYER

The cut facets on this solid wood cocktail table make for a stunning centerpiece in any room.  I especially love how the drama is amplified with the unfaceted sections painted a rich gold.

AERIN FOR EJ VICTOR

I love all the pieces in Aerin Lauder’s new furniture collection, AERIN, but I especially love these round nesting tables pictured below.  There are so many nesting tables on the market right now, but none as uniquely shaped as these two.  As with every brilliantly designed collection, these pieces can work well in almost any style interior.

STRAY DOG DESIGNS

LOVED this 3D wall art from Stray Dog.  The beauty of this particular 3 panel series is one that I could see in a contemporary living room just as well as a teenage girl’s bedroom, or even a kitchen, for that matter.

REGINA ANDREW DESIGN

These large glass pendants from Regina Andrew resemble Murano hand blown glass (without the price tag!)  Each piece of glass is individually hung and when illuminated produce a beautiful soft glow.

ALDEN PARKES

The beauty of this high gloss marbled-effect resin cocktail table is that it can be ordered in any custom color.  In addition to the cocktail table shown, an accent table is also available.  What an innovative way to add color to any room!

ARTERIORS HOME

If you’ve ever been in the market for a fireplace screen, you probably know that beautifully designed ones are few and far between.  Good thing Arteriors has come to the rescue with their new line of fireplace screens – available in a variety of styles and finishes.  I especially love the brass mesh screen show in the rear right.  With the beautiful soft brass patina, it is classic and understated – just the way I like it.

OLY

Virtually indestructable, this pierced cast resin cocktail table is available in either black or white and in either a 30″ or 42″ diameter.  A beautiful cocktail table that can withstand having books thrown on top or feet resting on its edge is almost unheard of, which is why I am thinking of replacing my own table with this one.  What do you think?

AQUARIUS FURNITURE BY LEXINGTON HOME BRANDS

Aquarius is known for their unforgettable statement pieces that add impact to any room.  This Aria chest by Aquarius Furniture has tangerine leather drawer fronts, top and end panels.  Its meticulous detailing includes mahogany wood trim in a walnut finish and polished brass hardware, and the rich tangerine leather finish mimics the color of a certain luxury brand from France.   In addition to tangerine leather, the Aria chest is also available in a rich bone colored leather.

SkLO

Another piece from SkLO’s “Object” Collection, these colorful hand blown works of art are a statement on its own and can be used to add color to a bookshelf, or used in multiples to add interest to any area of the house.  Since these knots are hand blown, no two are alike and each has its own unique shape.

I hope you enjoyed my top picks for the Fall 2013 High Point Market!
