Ever since I laid eyes on Donghia's "Pink Passion" Suzani motif back in 2008, I have been a big fan of magenta and ochre used in conjunction with a clean white or neutral background. I have seen "Pink Passion" in several publications and each time it looks totally different, depending on how the designer has decided to incorporate it into his/her design. The combination of magenta, plum and ochre is just stunning, and it grows on me more and more every time I see it.

I recently came across this living room from O Interior Design, which utilizes the same bright magenta and ochre, only a tad bit more saturated, and I immediately fell in love. The bright magenta rug, the ochre colored leather wing chair - both just stunning. The majority of the room is done in a combination of neutrals, with a natural wood coffered ceiling and a wood floor and wainscoting. A few very bright and saturated magenta items are thrown into the mix and changes the personality of the room entirely. With the simple addition of these few items, the room takes on a whole new life of its own and leaves only a trace of its former traditional self. What do you think of this room?
And now for the fun part...

Have a wonderful weekend! This weekend will be a busy one for me, as this Sunday marks my official transition into the world of interior design. I will be attending the annual Designers Blogger Conference, where several respected leaders of the interior design industry will be speaking (Charlotte Moss, Newell Turner, and Barbara Barry, to name a few). Wish me luck - I'm sure that I will have a LOT to report once I return on Wednesday!
Cheers,
Jeanne
